According to the market survey conducted in early 2018, the average installation cost of PV systems was about $47,000/kW (for common PV systems without complicated builders / structural strengthening works) and the payback period was about 40 years.

Innovative applications such as floating PV systems make use of water bodies, avoiding the land constraints of a densely populated city. These systems can reduce water evaporation and improve panel efficiency through the cooling effect of the water.
